Nima Dolmo Gole (8 years old), Aang Chiring Gole( 6yrs), Angnima Gole ( 4 yrs old) and Unnati Gole (2 yrs) are four orphan siblings who are recently rescued from Dolakha district. Their father died a month ago due to HIV and their mother also suffered a horrific death few weeks ago. On the way to home from farm, she sat on the pavement of field for some rest and was with her youngest daughter Unnati. According to her near relatives she was going through panic condition of different opportunistic infections at that time and thus on the way she died while breastfeeding the little daughter. To share such tragic death of their mother is something like nightmare for these siblings. And now they are left only with the stigma except the eldest daughter (HIV negative) and insecure future. It can be imagined how difficult it is for these innocent ones to be left in such miserable condition without any immediate caretakers and backups for livelihood. Being under such vulnerable condition, they are referred to Setu Nepal by District Child Welfare and currently staying in transit home of Setu Nepal.
As we know the stigma and discrimination relating to HIV positive individuals prevailing in our society, the life for these kids is way too difficult without a proper support and care from the reliable source. Thus, the most immediate need is of proper nurturing for them and then the proper education supportsas soon as possible. Thus it’s a humble request to all our well-wishers and helping hands for their financial support so that the treatments, nurturing and education can be directed in a proper path. Today our small initiation can be a major investment for their bright and independent future.
As for now, SETU Nepal has provision for long-term support for female child only, we are looking to liaise with other organization with the provision of long term supports to male child with such history. However, they are currently under the custody of SETU Nepal and will stay in transit house of SETU Nepal until ART is started properly and the proper shelter for their effective nurturing is managed.
Thus, we urge for an immediate support for all these siblings and the long term support too for the male children as soon as possible. We are very positive that our combined effort will restore that glee in these innocent faces and nothing can bet the contentment of being a reason for someone's smile.
