Health Camp & Awareness Campaign at Pashupati Temple

Shravan ( mid July-mid August), the month known for its religious importance, especially among Hindu women who observe fasting, wear green bangles and attire, and offer prayers for the well-being of their families, is also a time to reflect on inner peace and holistic wellness.

On the sacred occasion of Shravan on July 28th and August 11 2025, SETU Nepal organized free Health Camp at Pashupati Temple, one of the holiest sites for Hindu devotees. The camp provided free sugar and blood presuure checkup alongside health counseling combined with Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Awareness Campaigns. Total of 387 female and male devotees were served during the camp.

By distributing informative leaflets regard health and gender based violence, we encouraged devotees to become conscious about their health and motivated them to recognize that raising awareness and supporting victims of domestic violence is not only a social responsibility but also a form of religious service—an act of humanity.

We are thankful to Setu Nepal for organizing this free health checkup and counseling session during the auspicious month of Shrawan. It was a thoughtful initiative that truly cared for our well-being.” expressed by one of the devotees who received free health checkup service.

Several participants expressed deep appreciation for the health check-ups, particularly during Shravan fasting and festival activities, when people often neglect their own health. Many were curious to learn their blood sugar and pressure results, with some even expressing interest in additional screenings such as thyroid tests. The participant also noted that conducting checkups before the start of major festival rituals was timely and meaningful for those observing fasting and physical strain.

We also connected our beneficiary in this health camp so that they can advertise their product (homemade pickle and incense stick) and generate some income .

The celebration highlighted the organization’s commitment to integrating cultural values with community empowerment, using culturally relevant occasions to reach more individuals and strengthen ties with local communities. By engaging with people during Shrawan, a time of devotion, purification and community gathering, Setu Nepal successfully blended tradition with service, reaffirming its role as a bridge ("Setu") between vulnerable populations and essential services.

This culturally sensitive outreach reflects Setu Nepal’s belief in celebrating festivals not just through rituals, but through actions that uplift, inform, and care for the community.By choosing culturally significant venues and aligning with important religious dates, both camps achieved high community engagement, Setu Nepal ensured maximum outreach and engagement.
