School Strengthening
For now, all children will attend public schools in their district in order to keep them inserted within their community and give a more positive image of children and families living with HIV/AIDS. Furthermore, the lower subscription costs mean we can support a greater number of children. However, we are aware that he education provided by government school of Nepal is of a poorer quality when compared to that of private schools. As such we always try to encourage the parents of the children to invest into the education of their children so that they can got to private schools.
As the majority of the children, especially from rural and vulnerable areas, attend government schools and we think they also deserve the right to have a good education; their education should not be defined by whether they can afford private schools or not. Therefor we have introduced into our work various school strengthening programs, as for example teacher training, school garden set up and our campaign “Day Meal Program”.
