Hina lama was 16 when she married Pradeep Lama. The couple lived in Hetauda, Nuwakot . Her husband worked as a driver in Hetauda. Her husband’s friends were mostly the drivers of that location. She gave birth to a baby boy (Sagar Lama) few years after the marriage. The couple were living a peaceful life.
Things started to take a Ugly turn when two of her husband’s friends came to her house and asked her a loan of ten thousand rupees. Hina hesitated at first and was not sure what to do at that moment. The two men tried to tempt her by promising to give her extra six thousand. Low economic status and greed to earn more money led her to accept the men’s proposal. She was not aware about the men’s intention that they were involved in the hideous crime of women trafficking. They were involved in the illegal activity of selling young and innocent girls and women across India.Thankfully the two men were caught when they were trying to cross the border and saved the lives of innocent young women. During the investigation, the police found out that the money involved In the crime was given by her. A complaint was filed against her and she was sentenced to jail on 2055/8/18 fir 12 years. She was kept in Bharatpur jail for two years and then was transferred to Central jail there after. She was released from the prison on 2065/3/13.
Hina approached to Setu Nepal on 2nd November 2009. Her son is getting partial education support from Setu and she herself took training of candle making and incense making from Setu. Things has started getting better for her. She now is earning good money selling those candles and living a better life.
