On the 17th and 18th of January, Project Sahayogee Yatra came to life with a two-day Kids Camp focused on holistic development and recreational activities for children. Organized in collaboration with the Leo Club of Kathmandu Sunrise and the Rotaract Club of Patan, the event took place at Setu Nepal and was an incredible success!
This special initiative brought together children from Aarati Home, aiming to create a nurturing and engaging space for them to explore their talents, develop their personalities, and enjoy insightful activities.
Day 1: Kicking Off the Journey!
The program began at 12:00 p.m. with an energetic ice-breaking session and an introduction round. The children introduced themselves creatively, using an adjective that matched the first letter of their name—sparking smiles and setting the tone for an interactive day ahead!
🎨 Collaborative Clay Work
Teams worked together on clay projects, where they creatively made flower, butterflies ,tables and many more things on a given time fostering teamwork and creativity.
Unnati, the youngest child among Aarati home children expressed that she absolutely loved making things from clay work, and doing it in team was challenging but fun at the same time.
📖 Story Writing & Awareness Sessions
Activities like collaborative story writing, good touch and bad touch awareness, and mental health discussions helped the children learn in fun, engaging ways.
All the children expressed their perspective and opinion on mental health sessions and good touch and bad touch.
🧩 Unity Through Games
Games like Strength in Unity, Human Knot, and other team-building exercises brought laughter and valuable lessons.
One of the Aarati Home children, Nima, shared,“The Human Knot is like a math problem—just when you think you’ve untangled it, you find yourself stuck again. But with teamwork and logic, you can solve it!”
🎯 Highlight of the Day: Bhag Bhairav
The star of the day was the exciting and innovative game Bhag Bhairav, which quickly became a crowd favorite!
With such engaging activities, Day 1 set the stage for a memorable experience filled with learning, teamwork, and joy.
