Soap is a daily essential in everyone’s life, but have we ever considered the chemicals it contains? Many commercial soaps hold harmful substances that may affect our skin and the environment. Isn’t it time to explore a healthier alternative?

To promote sustainable and chemical-free living, Rokpa Village organized a three-day organic soap-making workshop from March 19th to 21st, 2025. This training had 13 beneficiaries from Setu Nepal, providing them with a valuable skill that could help them in their daily lives and future careers.
A Hands-On Learning Experience
The workshop offered participants a golden opportunity to learn the entire soap-making process using organic and skin-friendly ingredients. From selecting raw materials to understanding the correct ingredient measurements, participants gained a deep understanding of how to create high-quality organic soap. They also explored different techniques and learned about the machinery required to produce soaps on a larger scale.

This practical experience not only helped them master the art of soap-making but also opened doors to potential small business opportunities. With increasing awareness of eco-friendly products, organic soaps have a growing demand, and this training could pave the way for beneficiaries to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
Participants’ Exciting Journey
Many participants were thrilled with their new skills. One of them shared their excitement:
"During my free time, I got to explore the art of making soap. I learned about various soap-making processes, which I will definitely use in my life."
Another participant expressed:
"Initially, I wasn’t interested in attending the training. But from the very first day, it was fascinating and fun! I am so thankful to all the trainers who provided us with this wonderful skill."

Impact and Future Prospects
The Rokpa Village team believes in empowering communities through practical skill-based training. By teaching organic soap making, they are not only helping individuals reduce their exposure to harmful chemicals but also encouraging them to embrace eco-friendly and sustainable solutions.
With the success of this training, Rokpa Village aims to continue organizing similar workshops, supporting individuals in gaining new skills and creating better opportunities for themselves.
This initiative is a step toward a healthier, greener, and more self-sufficient future!
