From February 17th to 19th, 2025, beneficiaries got an exciting opportunity to learn the art of making natural incense (baateko dhoop) which was organized by Rokpa Village at Sindhupalchowk.
Baateko Dhoop, a local and traditional natural incense made out of natural herbs, resins, dry flowers, and wood powder, is especially used in rituals to ward off negative energy, purify the environment, for spiritual protection, as well as for aromatic purposes.

Over three days, participants explored different techniques for making (dhoop)incense sticks, which are an important part of daily life in Nepal and many other Asian countries. The training focused on natural ingredients, traditional methods, and how incense sticks can be used for spiritual, religious, and relaxation purposes.

This hands-on workshop helped participants develop new skills that could lead to future business opportunities. The training not only promoted organic products but also encouraged sustainable livelihoods.
The event was a great success, and the participants were thrilled to learn something new.
"It was really interesting to learn the process of dhoop making.I am glad I got to attend one." expressed one of the participants.
