Rima, a 14-year-old girl from Tanahu district, came to Setu Nepal Aarati Home when she was just five. She lost both her parents to HIV and was herself diagnosed as HIV positive. Her older brother, Manav (17), is HIV negative. After their parents’ death, Manav tried to survive by working in a small restaurant while Rima struggled with poor health and no care.
Rima was rescued and referred to Setu Nepal by the District Child Welfare Committee due to her vulnerable condition. Today, she is studying in grade 8 and receiving medical care and education support. Despite her health challenges, Rima is bright, determined, and dreams of completing her education to live an independent life.
Manav joined Setu Nepal at the age of 10 after losing his grandmother, who had been caring for him. He is now in grade 10 and hopes to become an agriculturist in the future.

Rima received partial educational support from a kind-hearted well-wisher during the 2019–2020 academic year (Shreejana Bista).
