SETU Nepal, inspiring education
In Nepal, almost 80% of the total number of students at secondary level are enrolled at government schools out of which only 30%-50% students pass their SEE examination which reflects the quality of education provided at government schools. The quality of education is basically determined by school environment and facilities available for the students. In government schools, basically primary levels, students are deprived of much needed facilities like, Toilet for girls, adequate teachers, committed and motivated teachers in profession, primary school curriculum, use of local teaching materials, 90+ pass rates, parental support to school, 90+ student attendance rates and regular school supervision by DEO which is also considered as the main reason for school dropouts. Apart from this, the students basically at primary levels are heavily crunched due to lack of proper nutrients which is creating psychological impacts in their education.
During the time of great king Prithivi Narayan Shah, soldiers used to be considered as the building blocks of nation. For that, the great king started a campaign to collect funds, no matter how small, from the people of his own state to strengthen his troops, and his people supported him. The same way, children are the building pillars of the nation today, and good things can only be expected from well-educated children. We believe that a powerful teaching and learning methods at primary schools could be the best way in making stronger pillars, the pillars that would make the nation better tomorrow. This is possible only by strengthening the government schools where large number of students are getting education but are deprived from quality education. Therefore, we are expecting to join all our hands together with our own people and for our own children, in order to provide them quality education through our “ONE RUPEES CAMPAIGN” One Rupee-Each Day-Each Family Member.
The history was created 300 years ago and now the history is to be repeated but for a different reason.
