One Day Sensitization Workshop on Gender Based Violence

In a collaborative effort between the United Nations Trust Fund (UNTF) and Setu Nepal, a one-day sensitization workshop on gender-based violence was convened on February 22nd, 2024. This crucial event aimed at addressing the pervasive discrimination and violence faced by Women Living with HIV (WLHIV) and survivors of violence. With funding support from the United Nations Trust Fund, the workshop brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, including Ward Representatives, Municipality Members, advocacy groups, service providers, community leaders, WLHIV, and survivors of violence.

Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in insightful discussions and presentations, gaining a deeper understanding of the complex challenges confronting WLHIV and survivors of violence. The alarming trends in gender-based violence and the systemic hurdles impeding access to essential services were underscored. This collaborative platform served as a catalyst for sensitizing communities, advocating for policy changes, and fostering environments that uphold the rights and dignity of those affected.

Ms. Mamta Bista, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, also shared her positive feedback on the workshop, highlighting its significance in addressing gender-based violence and supporting vulnerable populations. Moving forward, the outcomes of the workshop reflect a shared commitment among stakeholders towards eliminating gender-based violence and cultivating safer, more inclusive communities.
