Outdoor visit to Narayanhiti Museum

The Royal Palace, is a place where our king used to live with royal family. Anyonefamiliar with the stories of the king, royal family and their mysterious death, are always eager to visit the Royal Palace Museum.

Our Training Participants of Income Generating Training when heard about a day outdoor visit in Kathmandu, they put their interest to visit the Royal Palace Museum. SETU Nepal organized the visit on 19th October of this year.

Early morning, the women got ready and were highly excited to visit the museum. While on the bus, they were talking only about the visit, some of them were saying that they were eager to see the bedroom of the King while some were interested to see the crown.  Visiting to Narayanhiti Museum has always been a memorable and unparalleled experience for the participants. The rural women who never get chance to visit and feel anything outside their home and household chores were feeling very grateful to be in front of the Palace. Every room named after each districts of the country was another amazing part for them. “Wow My king used to work in my district –Gulmi” one of the 14 women shouted while roaming around.

The bullet marks around the area of mysterious massacre made their eyes wet as the King were worshipped as the incarnation of Lord Bishnu. Throughout the visit inside the palace, they kept on asking about the place and position of each member of the family. Their high curiosity and queries let them know about multiple facts of the royal family.

After the visit, one of the participant expressed herhappiness ina way that it was the only wish in her life,“I had the only wish to see the bedroom and the crown of the king, I saw them very closely, Now I won’t have any complain to god if he takes me away.”

In a nutshell, the day was so refreshing and fruitful for our participant mothers which has made the exposure visit to Royal Museum as one of the mandatory part of livelihood training itinerary.
