Setu Nepal distributed emergency relief materials and stationary items to about sixty families and their school going children in the slum area of Sinamangal and Gaushala in Kathmandu.
Most of these families are migrants from rural parts of Nepal to the capital city in search of better employment and education for their children. But their income through daily wages hardly help them to manage even for the daily basic needs of families. This has made a quality education for children and ultimate growth of their families almost a dream for them. With presence of about seventy families, this community is intertwined with such a vicious cycle of poverty that is hard to escape without any interventions addressing the root bottlenecks.
This seen yet unseen scenario in the heart of capital is one among many sectors to be looked upon as soon as possible. We hope our initiative from these families in Kathmandu valley will add some relief to many awaiting desolate families in different corners of capital.
